Wow! Our duckies sure have grown!! The babies used to be able to sneak through the chain-link fence to play in the neighbors' yard. Not anymore!! They are too big! Their adult feathers are starting to come in. One of them is beginning to experience a voice change - the sweet little "cheep" is turning into an immature "quack." One of the Mamma ducks is sitting on the nest again. What are we going to do with MORE duckies? Who knows? Ducks for sale!! Anyone need a duck?
Someone mentioned taking them to swim at the Lexington Cemetery pond when they are big enough. Bill said that a neighbor stopped by the other day to let us know she has family with a pond which may like some ducks.
I looked up the "rules" about selling ducks at the State Fair. You have to have a min. of 10 ducks to have a coup to sell. We've got only 6 at the moment. Not sure what we'll have in another month!! I guess they wouldn't be quite ready by the state fair. SO - does anyone know of a local restaurant that serves duck? Perhaps they'd be interested ... don't tell the kids. ;-)
